Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data collected while you use the Match.INK Artist Web platform ("Platform") is processed, with whom it may be shared, and your rights regarding your data. It is intended to align with Apple App Store and Google Play privacy disclosures and the product's actual data flows.

1. Categories of data collected

When you use the Platform, the following categories may be processed:

• Account information: First name, last name, phone, email, and password/identity verification records.
• Profile and content data: Bio, areas of expertise, portfolio images, profile images, and other content you choose to publish on your profile.
• Location data: City selected at registration, coordinates chosen on the map on the profile location screen, city derived from coordinates, and, if you use the "Find my location" feature, device location provided by your browser.
• System and device data: IP address, browser information, sessions, and error and security logs.
• Pinterest integration data: When you connect your Pinterest account to the Platform with authorization (for example, an OAuth-based account connection), limited permissions, access tokens, and related integration records needed to operate Pinterest publishing features.

We do not request special categories of personal data that are unnecessary for the Platform's standard flows. We recommend that you do not share unnecessary sensitive data—including health information—in messaging and support channels.

2. Purposes of processing

• Creating and managing your Platform account,
• Publishing your profile and portfolio,
• Where you use the Pinterest integration, supporting publication of your own portfolio and public Match.INK pages to Pinterest, including link-back behavior as designed in the product,
• Delivering customer requests to you and supporting the booking flow,
• Saving your profile location, making selections on the map, deriving city information from coordinates, nearby listings, and calculating proximity of listings and studio profiles,
• Maintaining Platform security and preventing abuse,
• Where you give explicit consent, sending in-app notifications and emails about new products, campaigns, and special offers.

Marketing communications consent is optional. You may use the Platform without granting it. You may withdraw consent at any time under Account Settings > Marketing communications consent.

3. Sharing and transfer

Your data may be transferred to the following categories of recipients as needed to deliver the service:

• Identity provider: Firebase Authentication (sign-in, identity verification, and token handling)
• File storage: Firebase Storage (portfolio images and related file metadata)
• Primary database: MongoDB (account, profile, communications, requests, and operational records)
• Email delivery: SMTP (verification, password reset, and support messages)
• Maps and geocoding: Google Maps Platform (map display, map selection, reverse geocoding, and, where you use them, location-assisted features)
• AI processing: Google Gemini API (only when portfolio AI suggestions are used—image content and related classification inputs)
• Pinterest (integration): When you connect your Pinterest account, limited data may be transferred via the Pinterest API or Pinterest-provided authorization flows needed to operate publishing features.

Match.INK is not affiliated with Pinterest. We do not sell or redistribute data obtained through the Pinterest integration for unrelated third-party advertising or profiling. We do not take Pinterest-related actions on your behalf without your knowledge and specific consent where required. You may disconnect Pinterest at any time; that stops future publishing actions, and we disable or remove stored Pinterest credentials or tokens to the extent reasonably practicable for the product.

Your profile information and published portfolio content may be viewed by customers on the Platform. Coordinates selected in the profile location flow are processed for internal operational purposes; the location shown to end users may be limited (e.g., city-level) depending on product behavior. Location data may also be used for nearby listings and to display kilometer-based proximity of listings and studio profiles to users. Where legally required, your data may be shared with competent public authorities and judicial bodies.

4. International transfers and legal basis

Some of your data may be processed through cross-border infrastructure due to services such as Firebase, Google Maps Platform, and Google Gemini API. Such transfers are managed under the appropriate legal basis under applicable law, including explicit consent, adequacy decisions, appropriate safeguards, or other transfer mechanisms suitable for the product.

5. Retention and deletion

Your personal data is retained while your account is active or as long as required by the relevant service. When your account deletion request is verified, your profile and contact data are placed into a deletion process. Data subject to legal retention may be kept for the period required by law and are then deleted or anonymized.

6. Contact and requests

For requests regarding your personal data, you may use the form on the /support page or the privacy@match.ink email channel. For technical support, use the same support form or the support@matchink.app channel. Account deletion requests are not accepted through that form; they are handled separately via the /account-deletion page and email. Data export requests are handled manually through the in-app settings screen.
